Our Vision & Mission

Our Vision and Mission have evolved over time, in collaboration with young people and underpinned by our CATCH values. We believe in the power of creativity to effect positive change and empower young people and adults to create change in their communities. We celebrate diversity and strive to create a welcoming and inclusive environment. Collaboration is key to our success, and we work with partners to achieve our goals.

Our organisation's Vision and Mission are at the heart of our work, developed in partnership with young people and supported by our CATCH values. We believe in the transformative power of creativity and empower individuals to take control of their lives and effect positive change. Our commitment to inclusion means that everyone feels valued, and collaboration is crucial to our success. We work with partners to achieve common goals.

Our Vision

We see a community where:

  • People value and respect each other and the environment.
  • There are safe spaces for people to socialise, play, learn and receive support.
  • Young people become a productive part of society and make healthy choices.
  • There is a multi-sector collaboration to address key community safety and well-being issues.
  • Adults and young people have knowledge, confidence and skills to access employment or education.

Anything is Possible

Once a building far away, now it’s standing here today. When they said it would be impossible, we came together and were unstoppable. A place now filled with hopes and dreams, a place where we nurture positive schemes. Solving challenges in collaboration, always thinking about transformation. To make a difference to everyone, never forgetting why we’d begun. Onwards we continue with our friends, and so the journey never ends.

Our approach is organic, whilst we know our vision, we are always exploring new opportunities to develop activities and projects that are effective and ultimately benefit children, young people, their families and the wider community of Leeds. In the complex world we live in, with increasing challenges, we believe in the need to be responsive to people’s circumstances considering local, national and global events. For example during the COVID-19 pandemic we distributed over 28,000 portions of food to the most vulnerable.

We have supported young refugees fleeing war-torn countries developing their self-resilience and helped young people at risk of exploitation, gangs and crime through our youth programmes. We also believe in changing and challenging the status quo, processes and structures so that young people get the best chance in life. This means doing things differently, innovating, collaborating with other organisations and pushing the boundaries to make a positive difference.

CATCH gave me the individuality and the strength I needed to be proud of who I am.

CATCH is a safe place where everybody is invited and encouraged to be themselves. Everyone is welcoming and the environment is family-like.

Your support is important to us!

CATCH relies on your generous donations to keep the lights on! Our community space provides a much needed hub for the community in particular for vulnerable young people, so they have somewhere safe to go, something to do and someone to talk to 7 days a week, 52 weeks a year.
