Community Safety
One of CATCH’s founding principles since 2009 was to promote the prevention of crime and public safety in partnership with the police and relevant statutory authorities in particular supporting programmes and projects that prevent and protect people and property from criminal acts and anti-social behaviour, with the aim of building bridges between the community and the police.
Throughout our journey and since day one we have embedded partnership working with all our emergency services to promote community safety and develop successful pathways for many of our young people. We believe that our emergency services need to reflect the communities they serve and we continuously encourage our young people to take up careers within these services.

At CATCH, you will find that we have an open door policy to all staff from emergency and military services. Some of our volunteers are current serving or former emergency/military staff. It is important to build positive relationships with our emergency and military services to promote trust and confidence – what better way to do this than over a game of pool, mucking out the goats together or walking up a mountain! We believe in changing hearts and minds – this takes time.
